Aims & Scope

ETKI: Journal of Literature, Theatre and Culture Studies provides a platform for rigorous scholarship at the intersection of literature, theatre, and cultural studies. The journal aims to explore how literary, theatrical, and cultural practices intersect with everyday life, history, social structures, power dynamics, ideology, economy, politics, knowledge systems, technology, and the environment.

ETKI publishes high-quality research that critically examines the production, reception, and circulation of texts, performances, and cultural artifacts across time and space. The journal encourages submissions that:

  • Offer new theoretical, methodological, or historical insights in literature, theatre, and cultural studies.

  • Engage with diverse global perspectives, including marginalized voices and non-Western frameworks.

  • Analyze the interrelations between culture and society, including politics, economy, and technology.

  • Present empirically-rich or conceptually-driven studies, including comparative, interdisciplinary, and innovative approaches.

The journal welcomes a variety of scholarly contributions, including original research articles, critical reviews, theoretical essays, and creative or artistic interventions that advance understanding in the humanities and social sciences.

Languages & Frequency: ETKI publishes in Turkish and English and is issued biannually in June and December. All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process to ensure academic rigor and integrity.
